Siblings form Bond
By Rosalinda R.
My mom and dad work, and I babysit but don't
get paid. I have a brother named José and a sister,
Eliza, who is in third grade at Linder.
All day they run around the house. I can't watch
TV because they make too much noise. Sometimes I wonder if
they were adopted.
When I make them clean their room, they say,
"I hate you!" I'm so angry that I don't care, although
sometimes it sort of hurts.
Little brothers and sisters are a pain! When
they are sick , however, it's a different story. When they
are sick, they are nice and calm. If they have a fever, I
put wet cloths on their foreheads.
When they're sleeping, I sing to them. They
look so peaceful and quiet, like angels, but I know they can
be devils.
When I read to them they say, "night Mommy!"
and I kiss them on their foreheads and turn off the lights.
They look like babies and sometimes I wish they would stay
that way, but who's going to pt the drama in my life?
Even though they make me angry, I don't want
anyone to hurt them. When they get picked on, I wish I could
be there to help them.
Another reason to have them by my side is so
no one can steal their love and admiration. I know I have
to let them grow up and become individuals.
Sometimes it reminds me of how my parents treat
me, so I sort of understand.
I also sing them a poem I made:
As free as a bird,
As light as a feather,
We will always be together.
